About
Mackinac State Historic Parks offers nine rent-free two-week residencies on Mackinac Island between early June and early October 2027. Residents stay in a studio apartment with a full bed, private bath, kitchen, laundry and WiFi. Each resident gives one public presentation, such as a workshop, talk, reading or demonstration, on the second Wednesday evening of the stay. Within 12 months after the residency, each resident contributes one piece of work related to the residency and Mackinac to the parks. Applications close at 5pm EST, and applicants are notified by February 19, 2027.
Eligibility
Artists in all mediums, including visual artists and photographers, writers, composers and sculptors. No stipend is offered, so residents cover their own travel and food.
