About

The Shelby County Arts Council's annual juried competition, formerly its Adult Juried Art Exhibit, takes entries in drawing, painting, photography, sculpture, printmaking, fine art crafts, fiber arts and digital art. Each artist may enter up to two works, submitted as images through the council's online form. Accepted artists are notified December 7–11, deliver work January 4–13, and the exhibition runs January 18 to February 28, 2027, closing with a reception and awards ceremony. Cash awards include $750 for top overall work and $250 for the leading entry in each of eight categories. The judge is to be announced.

Eligibility

Open to Alabama residents 18 and older. Work must be original, not copied, and not previously entered in any Shelby County Arts Council juried competition. AI-generated art is not accepted. One entry form per person.

Applications happen on Shelby County Arts Council's website. Seeke reviews and indexes the listing but does not accept applications.
