About
The City of Boise Department of Arts & History is commissioning up to eight artists or teams to design wraps for city traffic boxes in 2027, on the theme Surprise!. Each selected artist is paid $1,200 to create original artwork in any medium, which is digitized and printed as a vinyl wrap; the city handles fabrication and installation. Applicants submit a statement of interest, a concept description, three past works and a résumé through the city's online application. An independent panel selects artists in November, designs are developed through early 2027, and wraps go up in summer 2027. The program has run since 2010.
Eligibility
Artists and artist teams living in Idaho; all ages may apply. One submission per artist or team. Panelists may favor artists not already in the Traffic Box Art Collection.
