About
Bunnell Street Arts Center's juried Alaska AIR program brings Alaska, national, and international artists to Homer, Alaska for residencies of about one month in the fall, winter, and spring of 2027 and 2028, with a $2,000 stipend, travel, lodging, and studio or gallery space. Bunnell selects projects that strengthen the Homer community and take on themes such as accessibility, inclusion, sustainability, stewardship, skills sharing, connection, and community well-being, through engagement strategies like collective art-making, performances, Artist in Schools programs, and workshops. Visual, literary, performing, social-practice, ephemeral, moving-image, movement, and music artists are all considered. The open call runs September 1 through October 15, 2026, in alternating years with Bunnell's visual arts exhibition call; applications are submitted through CaFÉ, and questions go to Artistic Director Asia Freeman.
Eligibility
Artists anywhere in Alaska, the United States, or internationally, working in any medium, who propose new work with a community engagement component in Homer; teams may apply.
