2027 Virginia A. Groot Foundation Grants
Virginia A. Groot Foundation
You should apply if you're a sculptor or ceramic sculptor, 21 or older, and not currently a student.
About
The Virginia A. Groot Foundation gives three grants each year to artists working in ceramic sculpture or sculpture in other media, so they can devote a substantial stretch of time to their own work: $60,000 for first place, $30,000 for second and $20,000 for third. The money is meant to cover the costs of living, travel and making work, not tuition or continued academic training. Applicants submit up to 20 images through SlideRoom, ideally a strong body of work from the past five years; collaborative applications are accepted if marked as such. The portal closes at 11:59pm Central on January 9, and winners are announced in mid-May.
Eligibility
Artists aged 21 or older working in ceramic sculpture or sculpture in other media, at any career stage. Students enrolled full- or part-time in higher education are not eligible, and work made as a student does not count; teachers may apply for their own artistic development.
Applications happen on Virginia A. Groot Foundation's website. Seeke reviews and indexes the listing but does not accept applications.
