You should apply if you're a metro Atlanta artist or cultural producer, 20 or older, with an experimental project in any discipline.
About
Idea Capital funds experimental new projects by metro Atlanta artists. The Catalyst Award ($1,000) is for emerging artists or early-stage projects, the Vanguard Award ($2,500) for more established artists or projects further along, and the Susan Antinori Visual Artist Award ($5,000) for a fresh approach to traditional 2D and 3D media. Awards are fixed amounts and the panel assigns the level. Funds cover materials, equipment, fabrication, research and artist or professional fees for a specific project, not a general practice or finished work. Applicants propose the project through an online form; the shortlist is announced December 1, awards January 7, 2027, and funds go out January 21.
Eligibility
Working artists and cultural producers 20 or older living in metro Atlanta, including curators, nonprofit administrators and educators, in any discipline and at any career stage. Collectives are eligible. Students may apply only for work outside their studies. 2025 awardees must wait until 2028.
