About
Mass Cultural Council's main program for individual artists gives unrestricted $5,000 grants, with about 500 awards planned this fiscal year. It is open to creative practitioners in all fields, including visual artists, designers, film and media artists and culture bearers. The application is short: an eligibility quiz, a narrative of up to 1,500 characters, up to five images or minutes of work samples, and answers to funding-priority questions. Reviewers from the state's cultural sector score applications, with geographic distribution and program priorities also weighed. Applications close at 11:59pm ET.
Eligibility
Artists 18 or older who are full-year Massachusetts residents for 2026 through June 2027. Full-time undergraduates and graduate students in the arts are not eligible, and neither are people who received this grant in 2024, 2025 or 2026.
