ARCUS Project
You should apply if you're an artist, curator, researcher or writer from any country who communicates in English and isn't enrolled in a non-PhD program.
About
ARCUS Project in Moriya, Ibaraki, about an hour from Tokyo and half an hour from the research institutes of Tsukuba, runs ARCUS Research, a short self-funded residency for time, fieldwork and experimentation. One round covers summer 2027 (one-month stays from June 3 or July 7, or a two-month stay from June 3) and a six-week winter stay from January 14, 2028. The fee includes studio space, accommodation, and orientation and consultation at the start; residents can present at a closing Show & Tell. Applicants email one PDF with the entry form and supporting materials. ARCUS provides an acceptance letter for outside grant applications.
Eligibility
Artists, curators, researchers, writers and other professionals in art and cultural fields, from any country. Applicants must communicate in English and may not be enrolled in school during the residency unless in a PhD program. Groups may apply on one form.
Applications happen on ARCUS Project's website. Seeke reviews and indexes the listing but does not accept applications.
