The Room Next Door
Decagon Gallery
You should apply if you're a photographer anywhere, working in any photographic process or style.
About
Decagon Gallery's The Room Next Door call looks for photographs that take the viewer to the edge of a space they cannot fully enter: thresholds, doorways, windows, reflections, neighboring lives glimpsed at a distance, and staged work that invents what waits on the other side. Curator and writer Susan Bright is the juror. Selected work is shown in an online exhibition and published in an exhibition catalog. Cash awards total $1,000: $500, $250 and $150 for the top three, plus two $50 honorable mentions. Photographers submit JPGs 2,100 pixels on the long side and keep copyright.
Eligibility
Open to photographers worldwide, in all photographic processes and styles. Images without text, watermarks or borders.
Applications happen on Decagon Gallery's website. Seeke reviews and indexes the listing but does not accept applications.
