Patio Artwork Request for Proposals
Elmhurst Public Library
You should apply if you're an artist 18 or older living in the Chicago region with experience making outdoor public art.
About
Elmhurst Public Library is commissioning permanent public art for the walled areas of its newly renovated patio at 125 South Prospect Avenue, a multi-use outdoor space for children and adults. The total budget is $20,000, covering artist fees, design, fabrication, engineering, insurance and installation. Any medium is considered if it can be mounted without permanently damaging the stonework. Proposals are reviewed on past work, the statement of interest, public-art installation experience, budget and multi-age appeal. A finalist is notified by January 31, 2027, and installation must be complete by July 15, 2027.
Eligibility
Artists must reside in the Chicago region, be at least 18 years old, and have experience creating artwork for a public outdoor setting.
Applications happen on Elmhurst Public Library's website. Seeke reviews and indexes the listing but does not accept applications.
