About

The Cambridge Art Association is taking submissions for Beyond Form, a juried exhibition of abstract and non-figurative art at its CAA @ Canal Gallery on East Kendall Street in Cambridge, running January 20 to February 26, 2027. The call asks for work led by color, shape, line, texture, material and composition rather than recognizable subjects, in any 2D, 3D or video medium. Artists submit up to three works made in the past five years, all of which must be for sale. Juror Caitlin Julia Rubin, a guest curator at Tufts University Art Galleries, makes the selection; artists are notified December 16 and selected names are posted on the call page. Accepted work is hand-delivered January 12 or 13, and the opening reception is January 21.

Eligibility

Artists 18 and older based in New England (Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Connecticut or Rhode Island). Collaborators and collectives apply together. Work must be original, made in the past five years, for sale, and delivered in person; no shipping.

Applications happen on Cambridge Art Association's website. Seeke reviews and indexes the listing but does not accept applications.
