Black History Festival of the Arts 2027: INSPIRARE
OH Art Foundation
You should apply if you're an artist aged 18 or older living in the U.S., especially the Midwest, making original work that responds to the Black Arts Movement.
About
OH Art Foundation is taking submissions for the third Black History Festival of the Arts, INSPIRARE, curated by Juarez Hawkins and Thomas Lucas and shown in the second-floor gallery of the Zhou B Art Center in Chicago from January 15 to March 14, 2027. The call seeks work that responds to the legacy of the Black Arts Movement and imagines a new vision for Black America. Artists may submit up to two original pieces, mainly 2D work for the wall, and are notified by December 22, 2026. The gallery takes a 40 percent commission on sales, and artists pay shipping both ways.
Eligibility
Artists 18 or older residing in the United States (Midwest-based artists especially encouraged), submitting up to two original works; all 2D media considered, with 3D and time-based work as limited exceptions, up to 12 ft by 10 ft including frame.
Applications happen on OH Art Foundation's website. Seeke reviews and indexes the listing but does not accept applications.
