About

The City of Glendale's Library, Arts & Culture Department and Arts & Culture Commission want design concepts for crosswalk murals on three street projects, North Glendale Avenue, California Avenue and San Fernando Road, under the theme Glendale Sister Cities. Artists can propose for a single intersection or a whole project. Design fees are $1,000 per crosswalk leg, so budgets run from $1,000 up to $20,000 per project; the City's contractor installs the murals, so the fee covers the design rendering only. Designs must use the City's exhibit templates, be easy to reproduce with stencils and avoid 3D effects. Selected artists hear about two months after the deadline.

Eligibility

Local and international artists and artist teams of all artistic genres, arts organizations and schools may submit proposals. Designs must be legible, reproducible with stencils, and must not use depth illusions or 3D rendering effects.

Applications happen on Glendale Arts & Culture Commission's website. Seeke reviews and indexes the listing but does not accept applications.
