Dear Fear: Call for Visual Art and Writing
Dear Fear Collection
You should apply if you're a writer or visual artist in eating disorder recovery with unpublished work about fear foods.
About
Dear Fear is an anthology of letters from people in eating disorder recovery, each addressed to a food they once feared. Alongside prose and poetry, the editors are taking visual and hybrid work: up to five still images exploring recovery, fear foods, compassion or bodily autonomy, approached literally or not. Visual submissions go through the collection's online form with a cover letter and a short third-person bio, and visual editor Roula Seikaly reviews the art. Accepted contributors receive a modest honorarium, and simultaneous submissions are allowed. Submission fees go toward paying contributors.
Eligibility
For writers and artists in eating disorder recovery at any career stage; the editors particularly encourage LGBT+, BIPOC and disabled contributors, and men. Work must be unpublished and not AI-generated; video, music and other streaming work is not accepted.
Applications happen on Dear Fear Collection's website. Seeke reviews and indexes the listing but does not accept applications.
