Harry Ransom Center
You should apply if you're an artist or researcher whose project needs time with the Ransom Center's archives in Austin.
About
The Harry Ransom Center at the University of Texas at Austin will award about 50 research fellowships for 2027–2028 for projects that need substantial on-site use of its collections in literature, photography, film, art, performing arts, music and cultural history. Creative work such as plays, novels, films and interdisciplinary pieces is eligible alongside scholarship. Postdoctoral fellowships pay $3,500 a month for one or two months; dissertation fellowships pay $2,500; travel stipends of $2,000 are open to independent researchers including artists. Non-U.S. fellows receive an extra $500 toward visa and travel costs. Applicants submit a project proposal through the online fellowship application.
Eligibility
Graduate students, current and former faculty at any career level, and independent researchers such as journalists and artists whose projects need on-site use of the collections. Postdoctoral fellowships require a PhD or other terminal degree (MFA included). Past fellows may reapply after two full cycles.
Applications happen on Harry Ransom Center's website. Seeke reviews and indexes the listing but does not accept applications.
