About

OVAC's Education Assistance grant gives Oklahoma artists up to $500 toward a learning opportunity such as a conference, residency, studio workshop or study trip, and it can cover travel costs. Applicants describe the opportunity and submit work samples through the Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition's online application. A panel of community members scores each request on the quality of the educational opportunity, its likely impact on the applicant's practice or career, the applicant's ability to complete it and the relevance of their portfolio. Decisions come within about four weeks, and funded activity must happen after the award and within a year.

Eligibility

Visual artists, curators and art writers 21 or older who have lived in Oklahoma for at least 12 months before the deadline. Current BFA and MFA students are not eligible, past OVAC grantees must wait one year, and each person may be named on only one application per cycle. OVAC membership is not required.

Applications happen on Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition's website. Seeke reviews and indexes the listing but does not accept applications.
