Grants for Artists: Professional Basics (Fall 2026)
Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition
You should apply if you're an Oklahoma visual artist, curator or art writer, 21 or older, and not currently in a BFA or MFA.

About
The Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition's Professional Basics grant gives Oklahoma artists up to $500 for the essentials of a practice: quality images of their work, display and framing, shipping, travel to professional events or a website. Applicants submit a short project proposal and work samples through OVAC's online application. A panel of community members scores each request on the quality of the project, the applicant's ability to complete it and its relevance to their portfolio, and applicants hear back within about four weeks. Funded projects must take place after the award and within a year. Curators and art writers can also apply.
Eligibility
Visual artists, curators and art writers 21 or older who have lived in Oklahoma for at least 12 months before the deadline. Current BFA and MFA students are not eligible, past OVAC grantees must wait one year, and each person may be named on only one application per cycle. OVAC membership is not required.
Applications happen on Oklahoma Visual Arts Coalition's website. Seeke reviews and indexes the listing but does not accept applications.
