Guelph Central Library Atrium Public Art Commission
Guelph Public Library
You should apply if you're a Canadian sculptor or installation artist ready to take on a $250,000 library atrium commission.
About
The Guelph Public Library Board invites professional artists and artist-led teams to submit expressions of interest for an original three-dimensional public artwork in the two-storey atrium of its new Central Library. The total budget is $250,000 plus HST, with installation anticipated in fall 2027. The work may be interactive but must be durable, low maintenance and vandalism resistant, and it joins the City of Guelph Public Art Collection. Selection runs in two phases: an expression of interest of up to 500 words with supporting materials, then a paid proposal stage for shortlisted artists. The submission deadline is November 30, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern.
Eligibility
Artists or artist-led teams whose primary residence is Canada and who are legally entitled to work in Canada, plus Indigenous artists residing in or originating from the territories now known as Canada. Artists with limited large-scale experience are encouraged to apply, ideally with technical partners.
Applications happen on Guelph Public Library's website. Seeke reviews and indexes the listing but does not accept applications.
