Holocaust Memorial Art RFQ: Three Outdoor Sculpture Commissions
The Jewish Federation of Sarasota-Manatee
You should apply if you're a professional artist or team with outdoor public art experience who can deliver a large permanent sculpture.
About
The Jewish Federation of Sarasota-Manatee is building an outdoor installation of art and history about the Holocaust along a 900-foot landscaped path around a pond on its Sarasota campus, and is commissioning three new works: a sculpture or relief panels on Resistance for a shaded plaza; a tall, free-standing sculpture on the Resilience of Survivors, visible across the pond; and a photo-based design on Multi-Generations of Survivors using family photographs supplied by staff. A panel of art experts reviews qualifications; shortlisted artists receive design honorariums, and budgets run roughly $100,000 to $200,000 per work.
Eligibility
Professional artists or teams with a demonstrated body of work and experience in outdoor public art, including materials suited to Florida's climate (or a team member with that experience), who can design and deliver work of similar scale within fifteen months of contract.
Applications happen on The Jewish Federation of Sarasota-Manatee's website. Seeke reviews and indexes the listing but does not accept applications.
