Meridian Award $2,000 Unrestricted Prize
Meridian Award
You should apply if you're a contemporary artist of any background who wants an unrestricted cash prize and can pay the $30 fee.
About
The Meridian Award is an independent international prize that gives a $2,000 unrestricted cash grant to one contemporary artist working in any medium. Each cycle also names two finalists, who receive $200 each, and all three are interviewed for the award website and social channels. A jury reviews portfolios for artistic merit, clarity of vision and a distinct voice, with no thematic requirements. Painting, drawing, digital art, sculpture, photography, print and textile media, performance, sound, video and interdisciplinary work are accepted, but not films. Applicants upload up to five files, plus an artwork description, artist statement and biography, through the online form. The regular deadline is January 15, 2027.
Eligibility
Open to all artists aged 18 and over, with no restrictions on nationality, location, education or professional status. Short and feature films are not eligible.
Applications happen on Meridian Award's website. Seeke reviews and indexes the listing but does not accept applications.
