MLK Days 2027 Community Arts Residency
Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center
You should apply if you're an emerging or professional artist who can lead a community project in Maryland for MLK weekend.
About
Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center, a Smithsonian affiliate on the Chesapeake Bay, hosts one artist at a time for its MLK Days program on January 16 to 18, 2027. The artist proposes a community arts project inspired by the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., adaptable to all ages, and engages visitors on all three days. Residents get a private studio, the clay studio, the galleries, the 30-acre garden and optional rustic housing, plus a stipend of about $500 to $1,000 and a project budget of up to $500. The resulting installation can stay on view through February beside a solo show. An internal panel selects.
Eligibility
Professional and emerging visual artists, musicians and literary artists. Applicants must be willing to engage visitors for all three program days, need their own vehicle and consent to a background check.
Applications happen on Annmarie Sculpture Garden & Arts Center's website. Seeke reviews and indexes the listing but does not accept applications.
