Sculpture Space Two-Month Residency, 2028 Season
Sculpture Space
You should apply if you're a sculptor from anywhere who can communicate in English and commit to a two-month residency in Utica, NY.
About
Sculpture Space in Utica, New York, offers two-month residencies between February and November 2028, in four cohorts of up to six artists. Residents get 24-hour access to a 5,500-square-foot shared sculpture studio with specialized equipment, a semi-private studio, help from a Studio Manager, free housing a block away with private bedrooms, and a $1,000 cash stipend. Applicants submit up to twelve examples of work from the last five years, a short project description and two references; a blind panel of artists and sculpture professionals selects residents, who are notified in March. Residents donate one agreed artwork to the annual CHAIRity Art Auction.
Eligibility
Open to artists anywhere whose focus is sculpture. Basic understanding and communication skills in English are required. Artists must stay for the full two-month cohort and cover their own materials, specialized tools and food.
Applications happen on Sculpture Space's website. Seeke reviews and indexes the listing but does not accept applications.
