You should apply if you're a photographer anywhere with an established relationship to the local environmental issue you want to document.

About
Vital Impacts supports visual storytellers making solutions-focused environmental stories at the local level. It offers one $20,000 fellowship to an established photographer, the Dr. Jane Goodall Environmental Photography Fellowship, and six $5,000 fellowships to emerging photographers, including the Madonna Thunder Hawk fellowship. Ten further photographers receive mentorships. Projects are developed over 12 months in still documentary photography. Submissions close November 30, 2026.
Eligibility
Individual photographers and visual storytellers worldwide with a meaningful, established relationship with the community or environmental issue they propose to document. Local photographers are strongly encouraged. No teams; sanctioned persons and countries are excluded.
Applications happen on Vital Impacts's website. Seeke reviews and indexes the listing but does not accept applications.
