About

Wild Basin Wilderness Preserve, a 227-acre preserve run by St. Edward's University inside Austin, hosts two artists a year, one in spring and one in fall. Residents get a modest stipend, a small budget for materials and equipment, and access to workspace in the Wild Basin Creative Research Center and the preserve's trails. In return they work on site at least one day a week, lead one workshop for adults and one for children, exhibit residency work in the Visitor Gallery and donate a piece to the preserve's collection. Applicants email a statement of goals, preferred residency period, resume, work samples and the signed application form.
